Natchez Dixie Youth Baseball postponed until after April 2

NATCHEZ — The Natchez Dixie Youth Baseball season will be postponed until after April 2.

“We decided to weigh on the side of caution because we’re not willing to put any child at risk,” said Angie Hollowell, president of Natchez Dixie Youth Baseball. “With little children, you can’t tell them to stay so many feet away from people. We just thought it would be best to postpone and not risk anybody.”

Hollowell has been involved with Natchez Dixie Youth Baseball since 1992. Hollowell said she has stayed involved because of the children that play.

The tryout dates for Dixie Youth Baseball will begin after April 2. There will be a preseason tournament on April 17-18. Then, the regular season will begin on April 20.

“It’s going to shorten our season, but Dixie Youth has given us the OK to do so,” Hollowell said.
