Adams County still investigating May 1 double slaying

An investigation is ongoing into a double homicide in which two teenagers were shot to death as they sat in a car in a parking lot off of U.S. 61 in Adams County on May 1, Adams County Sheriff Travis Patten said.

“We have interviewed probably over 20 people so far,” Patten said. “There are a lot of different stories, a lot of different information that we are running down. We are in the process of interviewing more people today (Thursday). We have not gathered enough information yet to actually make an arrest but I feel like here in the near future we will be able to be ready to make an arrest.”

Patten said anyone with information on the May 1 double homicide could call Crime Stoppers at 601-442-5000 to make an anonymous tip and possibly receive reward money.

“We also have a tips 411 app on our website. When people are wanted, we send out information through the app,” Patten said.

Information about the ACSO App can be found on the Adams County Sheriff’s Office website at adamscosheriff.org under a link at the bottom of the page labeled “Sign up for alerts.”

IPhone users can find the app at the iTunes store here.

Android users can find the app on the Google Play store here.
