Adams County officials to distribute masks to area residents

NATCHEZ — Adams County officials will be distributing masks on Saturday, May 23, in an effort to combat COVID-19 and to slow the spread of the virus within the community.

Neifa Hardy of Adams County Emergency Management and Liaison Officer said Saturday’s mask distribution will be drive-thru only and is only open to residents of Adams County.

Residents should only receive masks in the pick-up location for their respective district and should have a form of ID available — either a driver’s license, utility bill or passport. Additional masks may be picked up for minors or disabled individuals who reside within the same household.

Members of the Adams County Board of Supervisors and Adams County Emergency Operations Center will distribute facemasks to Adams County residents from 9 a.m. until noon at the following locations:

  • For residents of District 1, Supervisor Wes Middleton, masks will be distributed at the former K-Mart parking lot at 280 John R. Junkin Drive.
  • For residents of District 2, Supervisor Kevin Wilson, masks will be distributed at a later date.
  • For residents of District 3, Supervisor Anglea Hutchins, masks will be distributed at the Adams County Safe Room at 323 Liberty Road.
  • For residents of District 4, Supervisor Ricky Gray, masks will be distributed at Joseph L. Frazier Elementary School at 1445 George F. West Sr. Boulevard.
  • For the residents of District 5, Supervisor Warren Gaines, masks will be distributed at Foster Mound Volunteer Fire Department at 228 Foster Mound Road.
